This is the first webinar in the a series of four focused on providing more detailed information on the Policy for the Prioritization of the VTrans Mid-term Needs. Workshops 1 and 2 have the same content whereas Workshops 3 and 4 contain Questions and Answer sessions. All events/workshops can be located here. The purpose of the 2020 VTrans Virtual Workshops is to:
- Share the draft policy for the prioritization of the VTrans Mid-term Needs;
- Be available to answer any questions or provide more detailed information; and,
- Gather feedback from the public and from local and regional stakeholders

Background
Mid-term Transportation Needs were approved by the Commonwealth Transportation Board (CTB) in January, 2020. The Board also directed the Office of Intermodal Planning and Investment to prioritize the Needs. For more information about the development of the Mid-term Needs, please click here.
Importance of the Prioritization of the VTrans Mid-term Needs
Based on the direction from the CTB, the prioritized 2019 VTrans Mid-term Needs may form the basis for VDOT and DRPT's planning and project development efforts as well as the development of policies related to transportation programs and activities.
Purpose of the 2020 VTrans Workshops
This is the first webinar in the a series of four focused on providing more detailed information on the Policy for the Prioritization of the VTrans Mid-term Needs. Workshops 1 and 2 have the same content whereas Workshops 3 and 4 contain Questions and Answer sessions. All events/workshops can be located here. Register for the first webinar here. The purpose of the 2020 VTrans Virtual Workshops is to:
- Share the draft policy for the prioritization of the VTrans Mid-term Needs;
- Be available to answer any questions or provide more detailed information; and,
- Gather feedback from the public and from local and regional stakeholders
Participation at these workshops is not required to provide feedback on the Draft Policy for the Prioritization of VTrans Mid-term Needs.

- The Draft Policy Guide outlines the overarching policy.
- The Board adopted the policy for the Identification of the VTrans Mid-term Needs in January 2020. The consolidated document with the prioritization method outlines changes to Board adopted Policy for the Identification of VTrans Mid-term Needs.

In the map below you will see two tabs: (1) the “Statewide Priority Locations” tab displays the Steps leading to the establishment of the Statewide Priority Locations; and, (2) the “Construction District Priority Locations” tab shows the Steps leading to the establishment of Construction District Priority Locations. The Needs were split into these two different tabs according to Step 1 in the Needs Prioritization process. Please review the results of the initial policy considerations for each Step by clicking on the separate layer buttons beside each map.
